YEW WOOD contemporary tree stump side table - beautiful one off handmade , sculptural, natural, log, Wabi Sabi

This is a stunningly beautiful natral form table made of YEW wood from a tree in Leicestershire.

Yew wood is rare, slow growing, complex and has many mythical and spiritual associations. The oldest trees in the UK are Yew (around 3 to 4000 yrs old).

The natural form here is evident from the 2 trunks which have fused together during growth. The bark has been removed and the resulting sapwood (lighter) smoothed to reveal its natural appearance, The darker heartwood is beautifully graimed as can be seen from the 2 cut ends, which have also been extensively smoothed.

You could use this as a side table, or for a lamp and a drink, or even to enjoy as a standalone natural sculpture. the beauty of nature - very wabi sabi.

Dimensions - 34cm tall,and 42x22 across the top. Weight is 12kg.

This piece has been coated in 4 layers of matt protection to give a lovely natural finish - when you see it you just want to touch it.
