The largest tree ring print in my collection to date, created from a section of a 147 year old tree that was felled in North Worcs as it;s roots has caused siginofnat structural damage t nearby houses, and barrier methods had not worked.

This ancient oak tree was planted around 1875 and so the printing block is truly an antique.

The image was created from a section of the main trunk. The large black shape shows where a brach had formed and around half way through the tree’s life but was cut off or fell and the tree continued to grow around the wound. \the degree of detail is amazing - you feel like you are seeing each cell!

This version is printed in black ink on off white/putty colour archival Japanese paper. .
