LIME WOOD contemporary side NOW SOLD / coffee table - beautiful one off handmade , sculptural, chunky, scandi, Wabi Sabi

This is a stunningly beautiful sculptural table made of Lime wood from a tree in Leicestershire.
It is a light colour, Scandi in style, with a very chunky top and 3 Zinc triple hairpin legs.
A beautiful feature is the way a split in the top has been filled with natural pebbles and grout - reminiscent of the sea shore and sand. The Japanese have a saying or ethos called Wabi Sabi which celebrates imperfections and the transient nature of things - this table is very Wabi Sabi!
Dimensions of the top are 70x71cm and it is 16cm thick attached to legs that are 36cm. Total height is 52cm, so useful as a side table, coffee table or simply as a striking piece of feature furniture. Weight is 20kg and the table is very strong.
Lime wood has comparatively light graining which is why it is often used for carving. This piece has been coated in 4 layers of matt protection which gives it a beautiful and subtle light sheen - when you see it you just want to touch it.
The overriding impression of this table is its beautiful sculptural form - reminiscent of a giant Maple leaf.
