Capability Brown was a famous Landscape artist in the Regency period and was responsible for designing hundreds of landscapes in the UK, typically part of big country estates. His developed the natural-looking English landscape style that became renowned throughout the world and his signature tree planting was a Cedar of Lebanon.
Compton Verney House in Warwickshire is one of his landscapes. Recently one of the Cedar of Lebanons he specified required some significant reduction work. We were allowed to take a section of this tree in order to celebrate its Internal beauty through printing and photography.
The grain patterns are unusual and striking in this print which was made directly from the section of log. we also took close up photographs which have been made into T shirts (see here)
The print can be supplied unframed at 66×66cm or in a black 75cm square frame with mount. The paper used is an archival Awagami Japanese.
The Framed version is only available to UK customers, otherwise an unframed print in a postal tube can be shipped anywhere
